Luca Dotto testing Gerald Charles watches in Y-40® The Deep Joy pool

To test the performance of the new Maestro collection, Gerald Charles friend of the brand and record-breaking Italian Olympic swimmer Luca Dotto took them to Y-40® The Deep Joy, the 42-metre deep pool in Italy’s Padua that in 2014 became the world’s deepest indoor pool. This was a dynamic test because, although the watches of the new Maestro collection are officially classified as waterproof up to 100 meters, the pressure exerted on the watch while freediving by swivelling at 42-meters of depth is higher than the 10 atmospheres of the pressure that would be expected in a laboratory environment at 100 meters underwater pressure.
